Investing In Your Children

Hi ya'lI, I would like to start off by saying that our children are our future.I have a two year old and I teach four year olds so I know what it means to instill good values into children and to be a good example for children to follow. I'm a firm believer in setting your children up for success. I will give you some tips on ways you can invest in your child's future.

Step 1; Before we begin investing in our children we must know what they are really good at doing good or what comes natural to them. It is important that you talk and listen to your child to see what they are interested in.

Step2 Once you discover what interest them do some research on that profession to help hone their skills.

Step 3 Once you figure out their interest set up volunteer opportunities to get them some hands on experience. The hand on experience will help them decide if they really want to go into into that profession.

Step 4 : Allow your child to interact with other children who have similar talents this will be a good way to see how your child work or play with other children, and how well they problem solve. If you are fortunate to invest in your child and if your child is school aged you can talk with your child about money and purchases , and extracurricular activities ( such as sports, fine arts,) You and your child can plan together, teach them how to save money to give them some financial responsibility .

I had the privilege of talking to a parent of an young entrepreneur, Yolanda Durant, she stated that she listened to her son when he wanted to start a clothing line, which started from a class project which later turned into a real business. She allowed him to come up with his own design and title of the clothing line., he had alot of creative control over his business. Currently ,they have merchandise that we can purchase from on their website Bravebranded.com, they are looking to expand to different online platforms to sell their shirts, sweat shirts, etc. This is definitely a good example of parents who pay attention to their children's desires and talents, to help their child to succeed.

In the video below I had a one one interview with Yolanda Durant mother of 16 year old Derrick Prince owner and operator of Brave Branded.
