This month I created Better Journey To Wholeness conversations on Facebook which i invited four woman to discuss weekly to share their views on various topics on business, faith, investing, health and wellness,and overcoming childhood adversity. My goal is for myself and my guest to encourage others to persevere level up, create goals, develop alternative or healthy ways to cope with life stressors,and to reach out if they need support with any issue(s) they are encountering.
The title “Better Journey To Wholeness” came to me as I was praying and thinking about how I wanted to help and give back to my followers and supporters. I'm still on my journey to being better than I was on yesterday, and previous years. Originally I wanted to do it for Mother's Day. The more I was planning the event, an idea came to me to do it in April instead of May. The month of April has lots of significance for me. April 7th is my dear mother's birthday who passed away in 2013. Resurrection Sunday was April 5th. My birthday is April 26th.
My Better Journey To Wholeness kicked off on April 4th. I opened up by being transparent about my fibroids, pregnancy and not getting regular checkups like I should. I discussed the importance of going to the doctor and getting regular checkups, exercising, selfcare, having a prayer life and having a morning and night time routine. My guest Amber Lydford discussed adversities she faced in childhood, her perseverance in achieving two master degrees in spite of her challenges. Amber encouraged the audience to not be afraid to share their story, seek appropriate help and to not give up when obstacles occur.
April 11th, The conversation continues as my guest and I discuss woman and business. I wanted to shine light on a successful online businesswoman Laketa Hayden owner and operator of Elite Hair And Beauty Supply LLC that I connected with on Facebook. Laketa shared her back story on what led her to start her business,. She talked about the products and services she offer. We discussed the benefits of having a LLC, overcoming the negative noise and fear. We discussed having a balance between entrepreneurship, motherhood and being a wife. I shared my back story of what inspired me to start my Liquidmatte Lipstick line in 2022. My website is A&A Beauty Supplies LLC www.styles4me.org.
Building legacies, creating goals gaining accomplishments hangs on having a positive self worth. You will behave in the way you feel and think about yourself. I feel the lord is using my platform to uplift, inspire and encourage others to be their best, overcome obstacles, trust God and the process. I'm loving how God is using me to help people gain hope, smile again, overcome depression, anxiety and fear.
I encourage my audience to think positive, develop an attitude gratitude, create a self care regimen, invest in themselves, have faith and create the life they want and not the life they dread.
I go live every Friday on Facebook which I call “Free Fridays” to share inspiration and to amp up my audience for the weekend. Last Friday I titled my video, “ Mirror, Mirror On The Wall” I encouraged my audience to look in the mirror to have a honest conversation with themselves and to say what they see when they look in the mirror. I encourage them to be open and honest with what they see to help build their self awareness. The goal of the activity is for my audience to do a deep dive and to make the necessary changes they need to help them to thrive.
In closing, how do you see yourself, what positive mantras, scriptures you recite. What are some self-defeated thoughts that you need to kick? I encourage you to pay attention to your mental and your thoughts. If you have more negative thoughts than positive thoughts begin to change that. Challenge those thoughts, get the necessary help and do the work. I'm rooting for you.
