New Orleans, LA Highlights

My first ttme visiting New Orleans, Louisiana was amazing, I had a blast. The city was everything that I expected it to be and more. My crew and I stayed in the French Quarters where everything was happening . We did lots of exploring and walking our two and half days there. In the French Quarters there are lots of souvenir shops, bars, restaurants, street performers hotels, haunted houses etc. The city never sleeps.

Our first activity was hopping on the ferry to the Dry Dock Cafeโ€™. At the Cafe I tried gumbo for the first time. I decided to try the different food that represents the Lousianna culture, that I keep hearing about while I was there.

Pictured is the menu of Dry Dock Cafe the restaurant I tried my first gumbo soup.

Pictured Is my husband sampling the alligator sausage.

This building is where several other restaurants which includes the Dry Dock Cafe.

After lunch we rode back on the ferry to get back to the French Quarters. After we got off the ferry one of the things that caught my attention was the Mime street performance.

Throughout Canal and Bourbon Street you will see street performances, shops, pop up shops, tarrot card readers and tourists engaging in all the fun. I learned that you are allowed to have open containers when you are in the French Quarters, and you may see woman lifting up their blouse for beads.

New Orleans is also known for ghost and other supernatural happenings. There are youtube videos about some of the hauntings. The city offers lots of ghost tours and cemetery visits. In my opinion the ghost tour was sort of spooky. The houses actually looked haunted which made the story seem believable.

The city appears to be attractive at night. While we were walking I saw a party bus rolling up and down the boulevard jamming, which I donโ€™t get to see where Iโ€™m from. My crew and I was taking in all the night time action in the French Quarters.

With all that walking, my friend and I decided to get a full body massage. Speaking of walking, if you are planning a trip to New Orleans make sure you dress comfortable and pack some comfortable walking shoes to endure all of the walking and standing you will be partaking in.

If you're ever was to visit New Orleans you definitely want to get a souvenir or keepsake to remember your experience. In the video I bought a copper bracelet with my name engraved on the bracelet. Also I bought some all Natural soap and body wash that will keep my skin looking healthy and to clear up some of my unwanted dark spots.

Pictured Is my engraved copper bracelet that I purchased. My crew and I passed by Freedom_Craft table several times walking in the French Quarters. I told my husband that I wanted to stop by his booth and support his business. I learned so much about the benefits of wearing copper, and I also interviewed the owner to promote his business.

When you are in New Orleans, you must try their various cuisines. My friends and I ate dinner at Fogo de Chao a steak restaurant. The experience was immaculate. The salad bar was huge with various veggies and soups to choose from. Pictured below are my photos from dinner.

This is my Ceasar salad, Lima beans soaked in Italian dressing and macaroni salad.

Pure delicious, seasoned well and fresh.

My friends were celebrating their 13 year wedding anniversary, the above strawberry cheesecake was compliments of the restaurant.

The card above are placed on the table beside your plate, if you want your server to bring you more steak you will keep the card on the green side. If you are full you will simply flip your card to the red side to inform the server you are done.

All in all New Orleans was an amazing experience. New Orleans was one of my top cities I wanted to visit amd my wish became a reality. I definitely want to go back to experience more of the city that never sleeps. If you are headed to New Orleans for Mardi Gras or the Essence Festival enjoy and have the best of time.๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’›
