Fall Party Fun Ideas
Fall is almost here. Fall is scheduled to come on Monday, September 20th, 2025. It's kind of bittersweet for me because the Fall season ushers in cooler weather, earlier and darker nights. The sweet side of Fall is I love the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays. Also I will be celebrating a few of my close family members birthdays in this season. For some, this change of season brings uncomfortable feelings, frequent bouts of sadness, even depressive feelings. Autumn can indeed affect our mood, but the impact can vary from person to person.
If you are a person that doesn't like cooler or cold weather and you tend to feel unmotivated, and you notice a shift in your mood or desires I recommend that you try implementing some Fall fun in your home activities, hobbies, wardrobe, etc. Here are some Fall ideas:
Create a warm atmosphere: Use decor with warm, rustic colors like burnt orange and deep red. Add soft blankets, flannel pillows, and fuzzy socks to your home for maximum coziness.
Set the mood with scents and lighting: Use candles, essential oil diffusers, or simmer pots with scents like cinnamon, pumpkin spice, and clove. Opt for warmer, yellow-toned lights instead of bright white lights for a cozier ambiance.
Savor warm drinks: Make a habit of enjoying a warm beverage, such as hot apple cider, a pumpkin spice latte, herbal tea, or hot cocoa. Savoring the moment can be a simple, effective self-care ritual.
Visit a farm: Go apple picking or explore a local pumpkin patch. You can use your harvest to make tasty pies or seasonal treats.
Embrace new projects: Fall is a great time to start a new hobby. Try knitting, baking, painting, or another craft to engage your creativity.
Connect with others: Make an effort to stay social. Low-key gatherings with friends or loved ones, even over coffee or a board game, can provide support.
Establish a routine: Try to maintain a consistent sleep schedule and routine to support your body's natural rhythms. Avoid napping excessively, which is a common SAD symptom.
Prepare ahead: If you know when your mood typically dips, start planning ahead. Book fun activities, prepare easy meals to freeze, or start treatment early to get ahead of the symptoms.
