Beauty Tip of the Day: Do It Yourself Nail Tutorial

I'm a working married mom. Sometimes I feel like there is not enough time in the day for me to do everything I want to do. In addition to that I often get invited to events whether I know in advance or if it was last minute. With everything I have to do in my life I still like to look fly and be ready to hit the town.

I was told your first impression is your last impression, with that being said I like to look my best because I want to leave behind a good impression. Throughout the years when I didn't have money to blow to get my hair and nails done, I went on YouTube to learn to do my own beautification, which definitely comes in handy now because I have a two year old daughter.

When time or money doesn't permit me to go the nail salon, I go to CVS, Walgreens, Walmart or any hair store to purchase an already designed nail kit. The kit includes: nail glue, a nail guide, a file, and 24 nail pieces.

These are the steps that I use to apply my own nail

  • I use a finger nail file and clipper to clean, cut and trim my nail

  • I open my Kiss package and match up the ten nails to my finger nail that I will like apply.

  • I use the cuticle stick that comes in the package to push back my cuticles

  • I use the file that comes with the package to send and shape my fingernails for a smooth adhesion

  • I select a Kiss nail and I apply a small amount of glue on the nail and I also apply a dab of super glue onto my fingernail for a stronger bond.

  • I carefully apply the Kiss nail into my finger nail I count to ten to give it time to stick

  • I do the same process for each nail until I have a full set
