In November 2019 my husband and I went on a carnival cruise to Nassau Bahamas and Half Moon Cay. We travelled from the port of Charleston in Charleston South Carolina. The name of our ship was the Carnival Ecstacy. Our original sail time was 3pm but our trip got delayed because someone got sick on the prior cruise, and the crew wanted to thoroughly clean the ship before we embark. We arrived on the ship at 9 pm and the ship sailed at 11:00 p.m. I was thankful of the 24 hour notice Carnival gave me, which gave me time to make some minor adjustments and finish getting prepared . I prefer sailing at night because it makes me feel more adventurous and the lights on the ship are pretty at night.

The first day at sea I enjoyed the activities on the ship, I went to a drawing and presentation at the jewelry gift shop, my husband and I enjoyed the liddo deck with the different contest and music.

The second day we arrived to Nassau Bahamas. At Nassau we went on an excursion to the winery, the cigar factory, Fort Charlotte and the Fish Fry.We did alot of walking and exploring. I got a chance to interact with the natives at the different venues. Our tour guide gave us the history of Nassau and he showed us the bridge of Sidney Pottier ( the famous actor), and he talked about other notable people from Nassau and how they are giving back to the community.

The third day of sail we arrived to Half Moon Cay. Half Moon Cay is a private island that Carnival uses. The island has a beach, straw markets, cabanas., and a bar. There were different things to do like water horseback riding, snorkeling, swimming with the stingrays, hiking, bike trail, and other water sports.I cant swim so my husband and I did the bike trail, which was a cool little exercise for me, After the bike ride my husband and I enjoyed the beach and I did a little souvenir shopping.

On my fourth day at sea I just relaxed and enjoyed the activities on the ship. My husband and I dressed up for fine dining and after dinner we took pictures. All in all I had a great time, it was a much needed trip for me. I encourage everyone to go on a cruise there is always something to do on the ship for couples and a family.
