Chilling In October
My October started off sort of dreary and heartbreaking due to the unexpected and sudden passing of my sister. The morning of September 24th I was in a zoom training for my new job, during the training I got a text from my brother stating hat my sister passed away. At the moment I didn’t know how to feel but hurt, and shocked. I was in disbelief because my sister and I texted on the phone earlier that week and she didn’t mention to me anything about feeling sick. That moment when I heard the news I couldn't do anything but turn off my camera and cried. I was glad that I was the only one in the office that morning, because it took me awhile to get myself together. Even now as I’m writing this I can remember every detail about that morning. That whole week leading up to her burial it was hard for me to sleep, a part of me felt drained. After a week I was able to accept the fact that she is gone and she is in a better place.
I handle grief by taking one day at a time, and I try to engage in things that's going to make me happy and at the same time I'm doing something constructive and inspiring so I won’t be in a sad mood thinking about my sister and my other family members that passed away. October turned out to be a blessing, and I had some fun filled days with my family and coworkers. These are some of my highlights for the month of October.
I love going to the state fair. My daughter turned 4 years old September 17, and I couldn't wait to enjoy this moment with her. This is Avril's first time going to the fair due to Covid and the fair didn’t come to town last year. She and I had a great time, we got on almost all of the rides. I couldn't end my night at the fair if I didn't indulge in a strawberry topping funnel cake.
October brings out alot of creativity in all of us. I love going into the stores this time of the year to purchase different crafts and activities to do with my daughter. October is also the beginning of fall festivities leading up to the New Year.
I give credit to my husband for carving this pumpkin. At first my daughter was afraid of the jack-o-lantern but later she came around, lol. This is actually the first time that she saw a pumpkin being carved, which makes it more exciting. I love being able to experience” first times”, with my daughter. I honestly think I'm more excited than she is.
In addition to Halloween arts and crafts and carnivals, October 15 marks 10 years of marriage for my husband and I. The last couple of years we didn't celebrated much other than acknowledging the day. This year I wanted to get away for the weekend, which was perfect because our anniversary fell on a Friday this year which we had the entire weekend to celebrate. Below is a short video of our suite. I would love for you to subscribe to my channel to get an update each time I upload a video.
Above are pictures of my beautiful, vibrant paternal grandmother's 90th birthday celebration. In the photos are some of my cousins, uncles, aunts, my dad, step mom, and the birthday girl herself. I love my grandmother's wardrobe and the fun time I had with my family. I haven't seen most of my family in a while due to work, taking care of my daughter and running my blogging business. I enjoyed catching up, laughing and spending time with my family.

Pictured above is my gift from being a member of the Facebook Leader Network in the United States. This is my second year being a member of Facebook Leader's Network. The group is on Facebook, the group is designed for business owners who wants to network and learn different strategies on how to grow and better their business. Members of the group share various resources and strategies that they use in their businesses.
