Did you know that certain foods that you consume can help combat Alzheimer's in adults? We all have heard of the saying, “ A mind is a terrible thing to waste" I'm going to share with you six foods that should be apart of your meal plan.
Spinach - It gives you folate, calcium, iron, vitamin E, and vitamin K. All of these nutrients protect our brain and keep it working properly.
2. Oats- they are filled with vitamin B, vitamin E, potassium, and zinc. Oats help to reduce cholesterol in our bloodstream which can lead to brain damage.
3. Yogurt- it is good for a healthy gut. It also has probiotics that help relieve stress and anxiety.
4. Blueberries - has antioxidants that fight against brain aging and short term memory.
5. Fatty Fish- salmon, tuna, sardine, tilapia helps with brain power and cognition. It's also great for pregnant women to consume Omega 13 which helps the unborn child brain growth.
6. Green tea- uplifts the mood and improves your memory. Green tea enhances the blood flow to the brain.
If you haven't already, I charge each of you to incorporate at least one of the above food in your meal plan at least once a week. Our mind and brain is an important vessel and we must protect it. I dedicate this blog to my grandmother Clarice Foster who suffers with Alzheimer's Disease. Thanks for stopping by, I'll talk to you soon. 😊
