All Things June
Yay‼️we made it half way through this year. I'm in awe of how fast this year is going. We made it through Winter, Spring and now we’re approaching Summer. This blog is dedicated to the month of June.
In the Northern Hemisphere, June marks the beginning of summer, a time of warm weather, long days, and vibrant growth.
Summer brings about outdoor activities, pool fun, graduations cookouts, family gatherings, etc These are some cool fun pool games you can incorporate in your pool parties
June 15th is Father’s Day. What plans do you have for your Father? For a fun and memorable Father's Day, consider activities like a beach day, an axe throwing session, or a family game night. You can also tailor the celebration to your dad's interests, whether it's a visit to a theme park, a family hike, or even a trip to a local brewery. Keep In mind the activity you choose for your father should be personable to your father so it can be memorable for him.
Another holiday in the month of June is Juneteenth. This day is often overlooked event in our nation's history. On June 19, 1865, Union troops freed enslaved African Americans in Galveston Bay and across Texas some two and a half years after President Abraham Lincoln signed the Emancipation Proclamation. Many people use the Juneteenth holiday as a time to reflect on the country’s past. Cities and states across the country typically host educational programming to inform individuals of the 250,000 Blacks who gained their freedom in honor of the holiday. Celebrations may include readings of former president Lincoln’s Emancipation Proclamation, cook outs, festivals and Miss Juneteenth contests across the country.
In the US, June is recognized as both Men's Mental Health Awareness Month and Alzheimer's & Brain Awareness Month. It also includes National Aphasia Awareness Month and PTSD Awareness Month.
By raising awareness and promoting open conversations, Men's Mental Health Month can help reduce stigma, encourage men to seek help when needed, and ultimately improve the mental well-being of men and boys.
June is African American Music Appreciation Month! Created by President Jimmy Carter in 1979, this month celebrates the African American musical influences that comprise an essential part of our nation’s treasured cultural heritage
