Are We Reverting As A Nation?

Is our world going in reverse? As of lately when we watch the news, senseless crimes are at an all time high. Police brutality is unbelievable and the virus is claiming lives. Are these the end times? Things suppose to be going foward not backwards.

Within the last decade and dating back to Rodney King, black homicide has been on a rise. Everytime you turn around someone is getting killed even women. Homicide videos are surfacing everywhere from YouTube to Ticktock. This saddens me because children has access to these social media platforms and they get to view the various brutality. This has become a new norm for the next generation and this is scary. Trust me these kids are not seeing this world as peaceful they are seeing it as a war zone and that's not good.

The homicide of George Floyd has been surfacing the world wide web. Children should not see a human being dying on t.v. by someone that is heartless whom suppose to save lives and protect.

What messages are being sent and embedded into our children?

What has this world become? Why do we have to protest in 2020? While people are protesting, fights are breaking out, people are getting arrested and buildings are being burned. George Floyd protests spread nationwide according to C.N.N. com. Police arrest nearly 200 in Houston protest on Friday night. 50 people have been arrested as protest continue across Mineapolis.

A tense standoff between police and protesters at the CNN Center in Atlanta Georgia, ended after a window was smashed and a firework was thrown at officers inside the building. ( CNN.com).

Atlanta Georgia is the home of the Civil Rights Movement. Malcom X, Little Rock Nine, Andrew Young among others fought that African Americans can have equality in the 60s. Why does it feel like we're reverting by protesting for something we should already have?

I often hear that mothers are afraid for their sons. and they have some underling fear when their child leaves home. Lately when I turn on the t.v. I hear someone has been shot or killed by a police.

There is definitely a break down of communication. I feel that officers and citizens need to communicate before the weaponsare drawn. I know all officers do not have bad intent, but I must admit this is going overboard especially in the inner cities. Lives are being taken and they can't be replaced once it is gone.

Where are we heading as a nation? What are the next generation views on violence and police brutality? Going foward what are we going to do to have a peaceful existence? How has violence shaped our society? Lastly, why is history repeating itself?
