My Tour Experience: Fort Charlotte, Nassau Bahamas
I’ve been on two Carnival Cruises with my husband , both times we cruised to Nassau, Freeport, and Half Moon Cay. Prior to the pandemic my family and I were planning to go to Conzumel Mexico , I was looking foward to going to a different country and taking my two year old and traveling with my in laws to explore tbe Mexican culture. When I take the Pfizer- BioNTech Covid -19 Vaccine, I’ll be open to travelling again.
I love cruises because it's all inclusive, such as tbe food and beverage there's alot of things at your fingertips, there something for the entire family to do on and off the ship. I love looking at the beautiful water, it brings me joy and there's so much fun and excitement on the ship. I have so much fun that I’m not ever ready to disembark the ship. I can get use to the great comcierge treatment everyday.
These pictures are of my husband and I they were taken on our ship, the Carnival Fantasy. The fantasy is one of the smaller ships on the cruise line, and this was our first cruise. My husband and I enjoyed the comedy shows and the club to say the least. This was a great first time experience which leads me to talk about my second cruise to Nassau Bahamas. My husband and I chose different excursions, they were tours of Fort Charlotte, and Graycliff Mall. The excursion I will briefly talk about is Fort Charlotte since it's Black History Month.
Fort Charlotte is very interesting, I learned a lot about how the Fort was built, the soldiers, how they got drafted, and their wages. Another interesting fact that I learned was the cannons were never fired. Fort Charlotte is the largest of the three forts in Nassau. It was built in 1789 by Lord Dunmore after the end of the American Revolutionary War. The fort was built to attack the invading Spaniards ( wikipedia.com). The Fort was named after the wife if King George 111.
Fort Charlotte has a drawbridge, dungeons, and you can see the Nassau Harbor. The fort is just a short walk from downtown Nassau. My favorite part of the visit was the tour . Our tour guide was very informative and passionate she explained how the soldiers prepared for war and how they were treated, they made little to nothing from all the hard work they put in.
