Choosing the right wig is almost like buying a car. You want a wig that looks great and natural looking as if it was your own hair. Wigs can bring out the beauty and style within us if you choose the right one. Lately I've been doing wig reviews on my YouTube channel to showcase my different looks and to help promote different hair vendors.
If you are a person like me just beginning to wear wigs as a protective style or you just want to have a certain look you must know certain things before making your wig purchase. A wrong wig can affect your style as well as cause you to waste your money. Choosing the perfect wig takes time and experience, that's why I have come up with some questions you should ask yourself before purchasing your perfect wig.
Can You Dye The Wig? If you're a person that dares to be bold and you want to save money coloring your wig can be an option. All wigs are not designed for you to dye, before purchasing the hair you want to read the instructions if you're buying your wig from inside the store or if you're shopping online. Make sure you read all the features and instructions before you attempt to dye the hair. You can damage the wig if it's not suppose to be dyed. It is recommended that you let a stylist dye the hair for you if you're not a professional to keep the hair in good condition.
Are You Looking For Human Hair or Synthetic Hair? I personally prefer human hair over synthetic hair because it’s a better quality of hair, less shedding and no tangles and it will last longer. You will pay more money for human hair which is a no brainer. Like I said earlier you want to treat the wig as if it was your own hair, you will wash a human hair wig with mild shampoo, and condition it and let it air dry.
Do You Prefer A Lace or Non lace? A lace front wig allows you to wear the part however you like, you just have to make sure you cut the lace correctly. The benefits of wearing a cap wig or headband is that the wig covers your edges, especially if you don’t have fine baby hair edges. If you choose a non lace wig you don't have to worry about glueing down the front of the wig or cutting the lace.
How Is The Wig Secured? If you wear wigs constantly and you want your wig secured make sure the wig have combs and an adjustable scrap inside to help keep the wig in place. I personally love the security because I can work out, dance, take a nap and I don't have to worry about my wig shifting or sliding off.
In conclusion, you want to know certain things about wigs if you're new to wearing them. Once you familarized yourself with wearing wigs it can be fun. I like wearing different styles without having to fix my real hair. I don't have to stress over how I’m going to fix my hair and being late for work or an engagement because it takes me less than three minutes to put on my wig.
