Self Health Tips: Being a Better You
We're in the third month of the year. I think it's important that we revisit our resolutions and goals that we made in the beginning of the year. Although we as Americans are going through some tough times, and social distancing that doesn't give us a pass to become lazy. I am still standing true to my goals and resolutions. Below I’ve come up with some self health tips that will be helpful for keeping us vibrant and healthy.
Exercise- have a dance party, put on your favorite song or watch your favorite dance video and just start dancing. One of my favorite videos I like to dance and exercise to is the electric slide. There are many songs similar to the electric slide such as: the cupid shuffle, cha cha slide, etc. All of these songs will have you moving, it’s fun for the entire family to enjoy. Also the song, “ Let's Move Flash Workout” which was created by Michelle Obama and Beyonce is a campaign that aims to Reduce childhood obesity and encourage a healthy lifestyle in children.
Spending some alone time means you can watch your favorite movie alone, read a book, pamper yourself, do a little online shopping. or engage in anything that brings you joy. Be your number 1 fan and treat yourself like you would treat your friend.
Eating Healthy- prepare more of your meals at home. The benefits of preparing your meals at home so you will eat fewer calories, chemical additives, sugars and unhealthy fats.
Switch your food fron fried chicken for grilled salmon.
Read the labels- It's important that you are aware of whst’s in your food. According to helpguide.org. manufactures often hide large amounts of sugar or unhealthy fats in packaged food. Even food claiming to be healthy.
Drink plenty of water. Water helps flush out our system and it keeps us hydrated.
Getting plenty of rest. - If you do not get the proper rest you will not be able to think clearly and you will not have enough energy to do some of the things you want to do . Poor sleep had been linked to depression and anxiety, increased risk of heart disease and cancer, impaired memory, reduced immune system functioning. weight gain, and greater likelihood of accidents.
Let’s start taking care of ourselves., and let’s do ourselves some justice, so we can be valuable to ourselves and others. We can take baby steps towards the right direction. Write down your goals, do a vision board ( check out my topic on How to Create A Vision Board) . Let's take pride and do some more self loving.
