Inexpensive Water Activities for the Entire Family
Summer is approaching and we want to have some family fun and beat the heat. Have you thought about things you could do with your family at home for the summer? If you haven't I have a few ideas of how you can enjoy some inexpensive water activities at home for the entire family.
You can use a water hose as a sprinkler for the children and their friends to run through and enjoy the water. This will be great in the summer around 8ish before the heat index .This is also a good physical fitness activity to work out your leg muscles and to keep your heart and blood pumping and regulated.
You can have a water gun fight or play tag . The more people involved the better. Who ever get sprayed is “it”. The facilitator can give each player a gun and let them go after each other.
Dodgeball with water balloons- the object of the game is if someone gets hit with the balloon they are out until another team member catches a water balloon. Divide people into two teams and give each an equal number of water balloons. They must pop the balloons by sitting on them.
Squirt painting - you will need squirt guns or spray bottles, water color paper, liquid water colors, and an easel. The directions are:
Arrange the easel in the yard, then clip two sheets of watercolor paper to each side.
Invite your family to fill their squirt guns with liquid water colors, then let them go in. If you have no easel, you can use a thumb tack to secure paper to a tree.
Pinterest and YouTube has tons of great summer water game activities for everyone in your family to enjoy. Below is a video of an activity that's inexpensive that my daughter and I enjoyed this afternoon. This game is fun outdoors as well.I purchased the kit from Dollar General for $ 9.00 ( isn’t that cheap?)
